Work Examples

Below are examples of some of the websites created for my clients. I have tried to provide a wide selection of work for your consideration.

Wine Eccentrics

The Client

Wine Eccentrics

Chris Price and Helga Wagner Price are a husband and wife team who are local wine-makers. After establishing, producing and subsequently selling on a very successful wine brand, they are starting again. This time, however, the site will also promote additional small wine producers from the central region of Portugal.

The Brief

An e-commerce site that is a delight to visit for all wine enthusiasts. It needed to demonstrate the vast experience and knowledge my clients have as well as help new comers to the world of wine to gain better understanding of the wine and grape varieties. A multilingual site as the wines will be shipped all over Europe.

The How

This is my most recent work. I designed the logo and created and populated the foundation structure of the basic site for my clients. It has been produced so either my clients or I can add content as and when desired. I love working this way because I know the website will not be an afterthought but an integral part of the business’s success. This site is a continuous work in progress and will develop organically over time.

Terence Austin Artist

The Client

Terence Austin Artist

Terence Austin is a British artist who lives in Portugal.

Terence Austin Artist

The Brief

Terence wanted a portfolio site which encompassed all his skills from paintings and illustrations to photography and content writing. The site needed to be visually appealing first and foremost as well as entertaining. Easy to navigate and provide a great user experience. Easy to find on browser searches.

The How

Probably one of my oldest sites on here. It was produced using a premium artist theme by adapting this to the client’s specifications. Search engine optimised, this site has stood the test of time and is still going strong after 15 years.

Knights Templar Lisbon

The Client

Knights Templar Lisbon

Peter Moore and Sylvia Anginotti

Peter Moore

The Brief

An informative site that reflected ‘the days of olde’ without compromising its appeal to the modern online world. With a sister site already in existence I was tasked with designing something similar in look and feel without direct duplication in order to avoid any negative comeback from search engines.

The How

This was a fun project to work on. I designed the logo to reflect the sister site. The whole thing was turned around within a few days as most of the content was provided quickly. I still have regular meetings with Peter and Sylvie when we need to update the prices and dates of the tours or add/remove any content.

Ennis Property Management

The Client

Ennis Property Management

Toni, Kevin and Richard Ennis

The Brief

This company had several existing websites, the 2 major sites were originally created in Joomla but had so many out-of-date modules and components that the sites were in danger of going down. The Ennis’s needed someone who understood Joomla and who could bring the sites up-to-date.

The How

Due to the fact that several of the used components were no longer being updated, I made the decision to transfer them to Wordpress sites. It was not easy as the clients liked the layout and contents they had so a lot of coding had to be used as a work around. I’m happy to report I am in charge of all their sites now.

Casa Grande Holidays

The Client

Casa Grande Holidays

Alan Thrupp

The Brief

Alan needed a website to help promote his huge holiday villa on the Silver Coast of Portugal. Terence Austin took the property photographs and together we wrote the contents. Visitors needed to be able to view and understand the layout, as the property is on 3 floors and has many rooms. I was also required to create promotional materials, including business cards, postcards and posters.

The How

I was given free reign on this project as long as there was a booking calendar and contact page, the rest was left to me. Several blogs were also written to help promote the area. Since this project in 2015 I have created several more sites for Alan and am due to work on a property portfolio site soon.

Fiona Spreadborough

The Client

Fiona Spreadborough

The Brief

Fiona wanted a lively looking yet informative site to help promote her voice-over and acting abilities. Something that reflected her personality.

The How

Although an easy brief the execution was a lot more involved. This included links to many different media types and organising the contents into a clear, easy to navigate, user friendly site.

Prime Consultancy Services

The Client

Prime Consultant Services

Adilia Santos

The Brief

Adilia wanted a website to help inform her clients of the many services she offers. It needed to reflect her good administrative and multilingual abilities as well as her experience as a reliable consultant. But she did not know where or how to start. Everything needed to be established from scratch including the company name.

The How

For this site I had to design the logo, which helped with the look and feel of the site as well as organise a photography shoot to help visually capture some of Adilia’s many roles. Not an easy task when dealing with someone as busy as Adilia but we got there and the results have been very useful in helping to spread the word, on Adilia's behalf, ever since.

Client Testimonials

“Jinny is great to work alongside and learn from, she’s not just a fountain of knowledge but a waterfall that keeps on flowing with help, ideas and wonderful positive energy to enable our solopreneur businesses to grow.”

“She more than exceeded my expectations with her help as I am truly slow when it comes to techy type things and all that I hope to learn but Jinny was super patient and explained things and then re-explained things and then re-explained some more, even plenty more times to help me and even came on board many months later to help me again at very short notice.”

“I will definitely be using Jinny again to help me upgrade my website and add stuff and change things because I can’t navigate it all by myself and it can be time-consuming and frustrating but it’s what she does best.”

“If you are thinking of using Jinny, don’t think for too long,  just contact her, you won’t regret it, I promise, she is five stars actually like the most exclusive hotels six stars, Thank you, Jinny I’ll be back, Fiona.”

Fiona Spreadborough

Actress & Voice-Over Artist

“I believe we work very well together and Jinny certainly meets and surpasses our expectations.”

“I would most certainly continue to work with Jinny and would certainly recommend her to others.”

“I would also add that on the occasions we needed urgent assistance (when emails weren’t working for example) I was very gratified and relieved how promptly Jinny answered and solved the issue.”

Richard Ennis

Company Manager, Ennis Property Management

“If going the extra mile had a face it would look just like Jinny’s!”

“Jinny, my wife, produced my terenceaustinartist.com site some years ago now. Today, it’s still my preferred window on the world for my work and I love it!”

“It has been central to showcasing my art and explaining what my work is about to thousands of people. I have had a lot of success from it and it’s all because of Jinny.”

“She is very organized and patient which helped me then because I didn’t always know what I needed. Because she has always been a good listener, she was able to take my wants and actually provide a site which I needed. This is because she has great knowledge and experience. She is refreshingly bristling with ideas but tempers this with information which you can use for a unique tailored site.”

“I have found that Jinny is good at finding solutions and workarounds. She has monumental patience and application which is focused on the client’s requirements. She is very tenacious and something of a perfectionist which is what you need when you put your on-line presence in someone’s hands.”

“Probably her best quality is that she is not a pressure person, you will find her easy to work with and she is always conscious of your ambitions. Never doubt she will give you a special site regardless of your budget.”

Terence Austin

Terence Austin Artist

“Jinny was a fantastic support to me when I was setting up my website.  I was new to this way of working, but she guided me very professionally through the whole process and I found her very easy to work with.  She is a great source of expert knowledge and I will definitely be working with Jinny again when I develop my next website. I would certainly recommend her to others.”

About
Jinny Austin

Jinny Austin About Me
I feel blessed because one of my greatest joys is learning. I came to website design when all websites were made using only code. I have witnessed the technology revolution from the start and have loved the challenges and opportunities it has given me.

I started making websites when the presentation company I worked for added it to my list of duties. I had already dabbled in creating a couple of sites and enjoyed the challenge of making one that would be viewed by prospective and existing company clients.

It was so well received the company decided to add website development to the services it offered and my workload started piling up. As a presentation company we provided conference services. One of the most effective ways of showing what we did was to create videos of the sets and shows. However, in those days videos took up a lot of memory online and it was a long uphill journey to get towards a fast-loading, all dancing and singing website. I virtually gorged on any new technology that helped make the process faster and smoother in order to give the site visitors a better and more and more extensive experience. Our team grew and one day out of the blue I was presented with the opportunity to manage a graphics design business the company had just acquired. It was a promotion and an opportunity to add a new section to my CV.

It went swimmingly to start with, I learnt a great deal and was able to add to my graphic design knowledge but it meant much longer commuting times.  After one year, however, I decided it was not for me and resigned.

That was when I first started my own freelance web developing business, which I have been able to continue even after our move to Portugal 15 years ago.

Although I still have some clients in other parts of the world, now the majority of my customers are expats who live in Portugal and who are seeking effective methods for getting their businesses known.

Over time I have added to my website and graphic design skills. I help my clients with Search Engine Optimisation and even help research and create content if required. I am able to do this most effectively because one of my clients was a translation provider and I helped proofread all the English translations.

In this field where today’s technology is yesterday’s news I will never stand still and will never stop learning. It is a part of making the online presence service I love to offer one of the best.
